When prompted, repeatedly hit SQUARE to kick the windscreen in and free yourself. Once the cutscene ends, you'll regain control, this time as Joel. After a brutal sequence of events, they'll find themselves in a crash, with Tommy's car flipped upside down. The end of the scene sees Tommy, Joel and Sarah arrive in the city. There's a lot of harrowing stuff happening here, so you'll have a lot to look at.

This isn't a cutscene and you're able to move freely, so take a look around as Tommy drives. The next section will take place in Tommy's car. You'll then cue a cutscene, eventually culminating in Joel taking Sarah out to the front of the house where his brother, Tommy, is waiting in a car. Interact with it and then head through the set of double doors on your left.Īs you enter, Joel will run into the room and begin rummaging through a nearby desk, eventually pulling out a revolver. Head over to the kitchen drawers opposite the oven and you'll find Joel's phone. Once you reach the ground floor, you'll hear a phone going off in the kitchen. Head out the door and descend the staircase. After a few seconds of watching the nearby TV, you'll hear an explosion outside. When you're ready, leave the bathroom and head for the doorway to the right of the staircase. Have a read of the newspaper by the sink for a little hint of what's to come. Instead of taking a right at the end of the corridor, go through the doorway ahead of you.

When you're ready, head through the door and follow the route ahead. You can open the card by hitting TRIANGLE. His bedroom is at the end of the corridor outside Sarah's room, but there are a few things for us to interact with before we get there.Ĭheck out the dresser opposite Sarah's bed and you'll find a birthday card with a dinosaur on it. Our objective now is to go and find Joel. Once the conversation concludes, Sarah will get out of bed and we'll take control.

Once the scene ends, we'll cut back to Sarah, who is woken up by a late-night phone call. The Last of Us opens on a long cutscene introducing us to Sarah and her father, Joel. There are no collectibles to find in this chapter, although there are a few interactive items we'll list in the walkthrough below that are worth taking a look at along the way.
